Extended Aftercare

Extended aftercare ensures the asset continues to perform optimally as it settles into full operation. The design and construction team play a critical role during this phase.

Key Activities & Timeline

3 Months Post-Occupation:

Carry out interviews with the operator, operations team, and end-users to identify issues or concerns regarding effectiveness (including building services and control interfaces) and undertake necessary adjustments.

Seasonal Commissioning:

Conduct testing of all building services engineering systems under:

  • Full-load conditions (e.g., heating in mid-winter, cooling in mid-summer).
  • Part-load conditions in spring and autumn.
  • Periods of high and low occupancy (where applicable).
Review Meetings:

The Appointed Party's Information Manager should arrange review meetings:

  • Quarterly for the first year.
  • Annually for two further years.
Technical Assistance:

Provide ongoing technical assistance to help the operations team understand and utilize the energy metering system and other monitored systems.
